Capitol Light - Your National Lighting Source

OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM – WHO'S WHO

Capitol Light is a service business, therefore our people are our greatest asset. Everyone on the team plays a vital role in our success, whether they are in management, design, sales, purchasing, accounting, or the warehouse. Below are just a few of the people who are contributing to making Capitol Light one of the leading lighting distributors in the nation.

President

David Mullane joined Capitol Light in 1984 and developed the national account business with an emphasis on specialty retailers. He expanded Capitol Light’s services over the years to include not only Lighting Design and New Construction Supply, but also Lamp Replacement which began in 1993 followed by the Capitol Light Maintenance Division in 1998. He has broadened Capitol Light’s target market to include auto dealerships, casinos, cinemas, financial institutions, hotels, and restaurants, day-care, healthcare and educational facilities. He promotes the use of ‘Green’ lighting technologies as outlined in our Sustainability Charter. He has built a loyal team of experienced, lighting professionals as well as a loyal customer base that he is happy to call family.

David enjoys golfing, skiing, being a private pilot and spending time with family and friends.

Vice President

Simon Atkinson joined Capitol Light in 1995. He is well-known and respected as a lighting design consultant within the retail industry and his opinion is highly-valued among our client base. He is an LEED AP (Accredited Professional) aware of the latest codes, lamp and fixture technologies, and lighting control systems. Simon knows what works and what doesn’t. He is keenly aware of budget constraints and creates lighting designs that suit the customer’s particular aesthetic while remaining within their specified parameters.

Simon is a father to three young boys and his hobbies include golfing, traveling, and being a private pilot. One day he would like to run a marathon but can’t figure out how to do it with little or no training.

Director of National Accounts

Kim Jennings began her Capitol Light career in 1988 and worked her way up the ladder, now managing the New Construction department as well as the Lamp Replacement and Capitol Light Maintenance divisions. Kim ensures that there is communication between all of the divisions and monitors a myriad of reports to ensure efficiencies are achieved wherever possible and that superior customer service is always delivered.

Kim, a proud CT native, is married to her life partner Deborah and has one teenage son, (13 going on 30). ‘Do you know teenagers think they know way more than their parents and have no idea that their parents were ever teenagers? They believe we just woke up one day and we were adults so “we just don’t understand the pressures of being a teenager!” Kim loves her family, camping, shopping, traveling, her dogs Pooh and Dunkin, and of course trying to understand all those pressures associated with being a teenager in today’s world.
